For example, a specific goal might be “to increase brand awareness by 10% within the next 6 months through targeted social media campaigns.” Measurable: Your goals need to be measurable so that you can track your progress and determine whether or not you are achieving them. Without measurable goals, it will be difficult to gauge your success or lack thereof. Going back to our previous example, a measurable goal would specify how you will measure the 10% increase in brand awareness (e.g., number of social media mentions or interactions). Achievable: This one is pretty self-explanatory – your goal should be achievable within the time frame that you have set. If your goal is too ambitious or unrealistic, it’s going to set you up for disappointment (and make it less likely that you’ll achieve other goals as well). Relevant: Your goal should be relevant to your overall business strategy – it shouldn’t just be something that sounds good on paper but doesn’t actually contribute anything meaningful to your bottom line. For example, a relevant goal for a company selling products online might be “to drive traffic from social media channels to our website.” Timely: Finally, all good Goals must have a timeframe attached.
